Mine:
If I could be a scientist...I'd want to research practical things that helped people - like gadgets that help blind and physically challenged - and ways to fight cancer, especially in kids - research on brain decease like Alzheimers - or maybe a rocket scientist, no really! Space technology would be cool! I'd want to invent practical commercial space travel, retirement communities on the moon before I retire, Faster-Than-Light space travel!

If I could be a farmer...I'd want to run an organic-style, shares based farm - with time and room for some trail-riding.

If I could be a musician...I'd want to create music that made people feel good

If I could be a painter...well, I've done the house painter bit once. Not very emotionally rewarding. I was very meticulous. But I can do it.
Of course, maybe I could be an artistic painter. That might be fun. I used to do lots of artistic drawing when I was in school. Some of it was not bad. But I'm not sure I could be a flat-canvas painter - I'd want to paint things that were unusual, like painting on sculpture.

If I could be a gardener...I'm not much into flowers - but I do sometimes enjoy vegetable gardening.

If I could be a missionary...I'd convert everyone to Linux! ;-)

If I could be a chef...I'd probably specialize in pasta dishes - except during Passover.

If I could be an architect...I've toyed with this - some of the sketches I've done were on the idea of designing buildings. I've even wondered if it would be a practical career if I ever decide to get out of computers. I have a 2nd cousin who designed his father's house - it is an incredible house. I think I'd love to design solid, open houses - and homey office buildings - and maybe even special museums and show-houses.

If I could be a psychologist...I'd be very good at listening - but I'd probably be too good at empathizing, and not good enough at steering people towards decisions.

If I could be a librarian...I'd probably get too anal and stressed out by it. But I'd probably read more, different things.

If I could be an athlete...Well, competitive sports do not do much for me at all. I'd like to play more raquetball, hike and bike more, ski more. So I'd like to be more athletic - not that I'm too bad for a mouse-jockey.

If I could be a professor...I'd want to be a lot like my C professor back in NJ - smart, and he was great about teaching people how to read the code so it made more sense.

If I could be a writer...I'd want to write great Science Fiction - and maybe some comedic fiction like Douglas Adams or Spider Robinson. Or maybe write good technical books about robots or web programming or some such - books that would put you to sleep in no time.

If I could be an actor...I'd love to be in a good science fiction show - like Star Trek TNG or Star Wars or something of the FX caliber of I, Robot.

If I could be a Jedi...I'd be an actor, as above :) . I'd probably be really tempted by the Dark Side, but I wouldn't let it get me!

If I could be a mob boss...I'd speak with an Italian accent, and make sure lots of people owed me favors. But I don't think I'd like having people whacked or worrying about getting whacked.

If I could be a professional race car driver...I'd want to ad an ejection seat :) - but it sounds exciting!

If I could be a stand-up comedian...I'd have a hard time with hecklers, they'd get my goat - but I think it would be fun to be part of a duo - take turns being a foil.

If I could be an artist...now this is a great addition - I'd love to be able to turn my love of digital photography into a real career, artistic pictures, gallery shows, maybe commissions to do a study of different places - I'd also like to try my hand at sculpture: recycled metals, active mobiles like Calder, interactive hands-on sculptures.

And to add...
If I could start a new business...
If I could work any job...

If I could start a new business...I'd create a giant Science Museum in town - I'd learn how to get the financing, I'd help design the building (like making sure it isn't as noisy as most Science Museums), I'd make sure it wasn't just an expensive Science Museum: it would also host and run meetings, seminars and education on robotics, computers, digital photography, space, medicine and horticulture. I'd get it running and help keep it running. I'd be hands on with designing exhibits. I'd get involved with making sure things worked well and that people enjoyed and learned. Now if I add sculpture into the mix - I'd have almost the perfect blend of all the jobs above! Of course I don't have anywhere near enough business knowledge to drive it. And I don't think I have quite enough people skills even if I were to get some MBAs to drive the business. And then it would probably suck up all my time - and I don't think I want to lose the time with my boys. But it is neat to think about!

If I could work any job...I'd be involved in movie computer effects and special effects - like Pixar or ILM or the like. But I'm not interested in the California scene, and I don't have the background to really break into one of those places. Oh, well.

Hiking Blodgett Peak 12/25/2005

So Christmas day Sunday, but we don't do Christmas. And a day off Monday. No real plans until Sunday evening for Channukah. My toe finally feels well enough for a hike. Blodgett Peak has been calling to me for months - especially since I learned there was a geocache on top. So I get up a bit early - early for a day off from work - and head out for a hike. I don't know how far I'll get - but I want to at least get to the top of Blodgett Peak. I've got about 8 geocaches I can try for, depending on how I do. A couple are up in Pike National Forrest, past Blodgett Peak. It is slower going than I expected. I spend more time than I wanted looking for the first 4 geocaches - I only found 2 of them. The trail is Icy and muddy. It is not a great trail - it is not well prepared like the trail going up Pikes Peak. It is very easy to lose the trail - subtle paths seem to go off in many directions. In many places, the trail seems to go up very steep, loose gravel. Step

Nobody Blogrolling Me?

Accoriding to wholinkstome there are a bunch of links to me. I know only some people use blogrolling, and I've seen other people have me in their lists of linked blogs. I have 30+ people in my blogrolling list on the side ---> But wholinestome shows that nobody appears to be linking to here. Should I care? Should I remind others to blogroll me? (Feels like begging or nagging.) Should I delete the ones I blogroll who use blogroll and don't blogroll me? (Seems petty.) Should I assume something is wrong with wholinksme? (I've peaked at a couple sites, I'm not there, do I need to do a full inventory?) Should I assume something is wrong with blogroll for my site, and people just can't add me for some reason? (Could it be that simple?) Maybe it is because I haven't done '100 things' yet. :) What would you do? :)
